Ante and Post Natal exercise classes
Ante natal exercise class…

Our ante natal classes are pilates based and adhere with the findings of the latest medical research into why, and how to exercise during your pregnancy. It is so important not to give up exercising during pregnancy, and putting your feet up for 9 months will not help labour! Everyone is encouraged to work at their own level, performing exercises to promote a correct posture focusing on core stability and pelvic floor strengthening, endurance work, and flexibility to ensure an adequate, healthy weight gain. There is no time like the present and therefore we encourage all ‘mums to be’ to start or continue exercising as soon as they can.

Post natal Pilates Class
These classes are specifically designed for new mums. They’re great for getting abdominal and pelvic floor muscles working again!
Through a series of progressive slow measured movements, pilates focuses on developing core abdominal strength. Pilates will not only benefit muscle tone and strength but will also focus on breathing and postural alignment. In addition to this, Pilates helps promote relaxation and allows an opportunity to de-stress.
You can even bring your baby with you to class…

Post natal exercise class…

Firstly congratulations on the arrival of junior, but now is the time to focus on yourself and get back into those clothes that were last worn 9 months ago and are still hanging up in your wardrobe! Exercise after giving birth is vital to enable you to regain your muscle power and cardiovascular fitness and tones those areas that get increasingly hard to keep in shape after the birth. Exercise also releases feel good hormones, and let’s be honest, we need as many of these as we can get! Our post natal exercise group focuses on core stability and pelvic floor strengthening, cardiovascular fitness, flexibility and education, and each new mother can work to their own level to regain confidence in their bodies. But most of all it is fun and sociable as you get to meet other mothers who are fighting to get rid of the extra few pounds of baby weight as well.
We recommend that you have had a post natal check with your doctor or midwife before attending, but usually we start at 6 weeks post normal delivery or 10-12 weeks post caesarian delivery.
