What does Physiotherapy ‘do’?
Here’s the crux of the issue – there is no standard Physiotherapy. As everybody is unique, different techniques and approaches work for different people. So what will work for your back pain may not work for the woman down the street. That said, medical research, a knowledge of anatomy and physiology can guide us into providing the best solutions for many musculoskeletal problems like shoulder pain, knee pain, ankle pain etc.
The physiotherapist should be able to work out the state of the pain system, the state of the tissue, and from that a management solution for you. The best approach is hands on treatment when needed and exercise – so you have to become the physiotherapist.
If you have any questions before you book in with us (in either Earsfield/Wandsworth or Wimbledon), do not hesitate to email or call.
